2 days in montauk
last friday i was on my way home from work in my uber pool (i treat myself on fridays) with the craziest driver ever, he was honking, slamming on his breaks and yelling out the window at everyone. there were two other girls sharing the car, both on their phones. i didn't mind though because i was just thinking TGIF and i was about to hit up the new trader joe's, shower, face mask and chill with gianna. last minute, i got an email and found out that i needed to go and work in montauk for the weekend! so that relaxing friday turned into washing, packing, prepping and getting ready for our 6 o'clock train the next morning!
our train ride to montauk was intense! it was actually storming for the whole 3 and a half hour trip! g, bambi and myself were super confused and felt kind of weird when the train started flooding inside. it was like a scene from titanic in there, anyone who follows my insta story will know what i am talking about. it was bizarre, and to make things even weirder, i forgot to pack any sort of breakfast or snacks. so i thought it would be a good idea to crack open one of bambi's organic baby food pouches... i literally stole food from a baby, but it was delicious! banana and blueberries. 10/10.
about an hour after arriving in montauk it was sunny and perfect weather! we dropped all of our things off at the beach house we were staying in and went for a wander! montauk is very charming. streets lined with flowers, old beach shacks, little shops and lots of cafes and restaurants. it kind of reminds me of a preppy/rich version of byron bay. the water was too cold to swim in and the beach was really windy, but it was nice to get the ocean air in my lungs again! we will probably be returning here a few more times over the summer. can't wait!
