drinking bentonite clay

drinking bentonite clay

i was first introduced to drinking clay when i started seeing an incredible doctor/naturopath about 4 years ago for a bunch of different ailments such as fatigue, digestive problems, anxiety, heavy metal build up in my system from living in melbourne for 3 years just to name a few things that i was really struggling with. she put me on an amazing health regimen, giving me tips and sharing things with me i never knew. she also suggested that i was an indigo child?? one of the things she said i should start doing was adding clay into my water and drinking it first thing in the morning. so i started doing this and immediately felt the benefits.

bentonite clay is a "healing clay" formed from volcanic ash. it has been used for centuries by many indigenous cultures as well as the ancient egyptians for its healing properties (do i pretend i am an ancient egyptian queen when i drink this every morning, yes).  it is full of vitamins and minerals such as zinc, silica, iron and magnesium among so many others. It also "seeks out" toxins and heavy metals in the body to bind with and remove them which in turn enhances immunity.

  • it acts as a magnet to pull toxins, heavy metals and impurities from the body
  • removes mold, bacteria, parasites, pathogens
  • helps with digestive disorders
  • packed with vitamins, minerals and probiotics
  • alkalises the body
  • anti inflammatory
  • aid in weight loss
  • helps with vitamin and mineral absorption

i add 1 teaspoon into a glass of water before i go to bed at night to let the mixture soak and absorb all nutrients. the clay creates a different electrical charge when it touches liquid which is what allows it to bind with toxins, so letting it sit overnight has been advised to me. i then drink it first thing in the morning half an hour to an hour before any food or coffee. (do not use a metal spoon when making the mixture, use glass because the clay absorbs like a magnet and can be affected by metal)

i make face masks, body masks, bath and foot soaks and mouth wash with the clay as well. more posts and recipes to come on this.

i buy a food grade bentonite clay from here. there are other places on the internet that sell it. like iherb etc. it is important to make sure it is food grade if you are ingesting it.
