bali: nusa lembongan
our final stop in bali was nusa lembongan. it is as island located southeast of bali. we caught a fast boat from sanur to the island which took about 3o minutes. as we arrived to nusa lembongan everything became calm. the water was crystal clear turquoise blue. :o i was so excited! we had the best week. big rest days, lots of swimming, adventures and reading on our balcony. below i've listed some of our highlights and recommendations.
/ batu karang resort and spa
we stayed at batu karang, which was beautiful. our room was all the way up the top and the balcony overlooked the ocean. we had the prettiest outdoor bathroom. the resort has several pools, restaurants and small world the owners are from my hometown noosa. i would highly recommend one of the organic facials at the spa and the flower bath in your room.
/ the deck cafe and bar
fresh coconuts, snacks and taking in the view at the deck. this place is part of batu karang resort, but open for everyone. we spent a lot of time here.
/ exploring the island on a scooter
our scooter days were some of the best. we really didn't know where we were going half the time but we had a map and the island is pretty minimal. lots of beautiful views and we stopped at some nice cafes and restaurants and of course i took some photos of chickens, street dogs and cows.
/ le pirate beach club
on one of our scooter days we made our way over the bridge to nusa ceningan for a day and hung out at le pirate beach club. i originally wanted to stay here, but it was totally booked out. but we managed to have a nice day swimming, eating fish tacos and relaxing here.
/ devil's tears
the devil's tears is a cliffside lookout where the waves crash into and underneath the cliffs and produce a massive spray. this was a mind blowing (pun intended) part of the trip. i was excited to go see it but didn't realise how intense it would be. it felt like the world and ocean were breathing. a must if you ever visit nusa lembongan.
/ bali eco deli cafe
most days we head to bali eco deli for lunch. so many delicious and healthy food options to choose from and a really nice little spot to hang out.
we had a really fun day out snorkeling. i'm pretty bummed i didn't have an underwater camera to capture it all. i highly recommend. and if you're brave enough you can swim with the manta rays.
