my experience with kinesiology
what is kinesiology
kinesiology uses gentle muscle-monitoring techniques to access the subconscious mind and gain accurate information about your current issues and what is needed to help your body, mind and spirit to restore balance.
kinesiology works through directly accessing the muscular feedback from your body (through muscle testing). the beauty of kinesiology is that it can bypass the stories, agendas and (often) erroneous beliefs of the mind to determine what techniques will help bring your body back into balance.
many people turn to kinesiology when they feel limited by simply talking about their problems. while talking is therapeutic (especially with a qualified therapist, counsellor or coach), kinesiology taps into the body to find, heal or shift the root cause of the imbalance. since emotions are held in the body, kinesiology is a powerful modality to experience for yourself.
kinesiologists treat a range of disorders including stress, muscular disorders, nervous disorders, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, emotional problems and learning and behavioural difficulties.
why did i start kinesiology
about 6 years ago my health took a pretty bad turn mentally and physically and after many failed GP visits where i felt i left with a lack of help and answers, i started to see a naturopath in brisbane. she wasn't just a naturopath, she specialized in a lot of different things and one of them was kinesiology. at first i thought it was weird and had no idea what was going on, but after just a few visits with her i felt immense and immediate mental and physical relief.
one of the ways she used kinesiology on me was to test for food allergies! i was always feeling sick after eating and wasn't absorbing nutrients which also meant i felt tired and fatigued all the time.
what did i learn from kinesiology
by testing my muscles with kinesiology i found out that a lot of things i was eating every single day that i thought were healthy for me at the time, were not helping me thrive. things such as coconut oil, certain fruits, quinoa, peanut butter, raw salads, tempeh, soy and dairy just to name a few. turns out i actually needed to be eating more things like chicken, fish, warm slow cooked foods, bone broth, ghee and eggs. as soon as i made the changes in my diet, my health started to dramatically improve. i felt alive again.
the main thing i really took away from this whole experience is that we are all different individual bodies. what is healthy for someone may not be the healthiest for you or me. i see so many people feeling and looking amazing on completely different diets and lifestyles.
