moments over christmas and new years
i thought i'd share a few photos from christmas and new years. we spent christmas day in brisbane with my family which was awesome. we ate so much cheese and made the most delicious pomegranate and apple sangria. then anders and i decided to spend our new years eve camping. of course the weekend we decide to camp turned out to be the hottest weekend ever. an actual heat wave haha. i planned on taking a lot more photos but the heat affected my mental state too much. it was still a great time and an adventure, a few wolf creek vibes but still excellent. we made s'mores, played a bunch of uno and had beer out of champagne glasses. i also made these delicious vegetable, sausage and baked bean aluminium parcels and put them in the camp fire to cook for half an hour. anders was impressed.
we then spent a day at burleigh heads. i can't explain the relief of arriving at the ocean and having the cool wind blowing on me and jumping in the water. it was the most relaxing day and the perfect start to the fresh new year. we had a picnic in the grass and looked out over the beach and then had a nap under the trees.
the next day we head back to brisbane and decided to do everything in the most air-conditioned way possible. we got fresh and clean and head to one of our favourite brisbane cafes king arthur for coffee and scrambled eggs on sourdough. from there we went to the goma for the morning and then the movies.
