my calming "golden milk" flaxseed breakfast bowl
i've discussed my love for flaxseed and shared my ultimate number 1 breakfast i eat 90% of the time right here. this past winter i was drinking a lot of golden milk, which is a warm turmeric spiced ayurvedic drink that has wonderful health benefits. weight loss support, anti-inflammatory, promoting better digestion, fighting cold and flu and boosting good cholesterol are just the start of a very long list.
now with the warmer months here i had the idea to take my favorite flax yogurt bowl and combine it with all of the spices from golden mylk as well as ashwagandha (an ayurvedic herb that has almost instant effects on soothing the nervous system, helping with depression, anxiety, thyroid, adrenals and more) to create this calming breakfast bowl.
INGREDIENTS (1 serve)
- 2 tbs organic brown flaxseed (freshly ground)
- 3 tbs yoghurt (i like goats or sheeps)
- 1 medjool date finely chopped
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 - 1 tsp ashwagandha powder
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
mix all ingredients together and top with your favourite nuts, fruits and sometimes i'll add a little drizzle of coconut oil or ghee <3
