one of my favourite airplane experiences: bibimbap on korean air
we are finally in new york!! we arrived 3 days ago and so far it has been incredible! i'm still recovering from a little jet lag, and slight tingle in the throat (please don't get sick). we've spent a couple days wandering around dumbo, brooklyn, williamsburg and soho... plenty of photos to come, but until then i thought i'd share a little experience i had on my flight over here.
when booking our tickets to new york, we came across the best deal with korean air $1200 return flights! at first i wasn't just happy about the price being so cheap, but also the fact the flight from brisbane to new york totally skips the LA stop over. before booking the ticket, i did some research, just to make sure i wouldn't go missing etc and noticed that a lot of people were talking about the famous bibimbap meal you get on the flight?!
now, after having had it for myself, i can see why. the air host gave us a little bibimbap "how to" before setting our meals down in front of us and we both ordered a korean beer to have with it. we spent a good 5 minutes looking at all the interesting little bits and pieces that came on the tray.... the seaweed soup, the pickles, sesame oil and the chilli soy bean paste. this was easily the best airline meal i've ever experienced. it was obviously delicious but also really fun to have to look through, read and put it together before enjoying it with a crisp, cold beer (despite the way anders poured it). i highly recommend looking at korean air for your next trip. #cheaptravelhack
