our first week in new york
we've been in new york for a week now! it's kind of scary how fast time has gone. i am absolutely in love with this city! we've struggled a little with jet lag and a flu. i feel like this always happens when i travel long haul, that's why i always make my vacations a little longer than i need so i can have a few down days. so i am currently curled up in bed away from everyone writing a blog post.. :)
we are the luckiest people in the world to have amazing friends like jai and gianna. on top of living in new york and being the best hosts ever, they are just the kindest most genuine people you'll ever meet. i am so proud of the incredible life they have created here and it has been so nice to see it all for myself since visiting. they've been showing us around and looking after us so well, and very importantly, we finally got to meet their beautiful 9 month old baby girl, bambi. i am so in love. she's the most relaxed, sweet, smiley, chill, happy baby ever. one of my favourite parts of our routine here is waking up together everyday, making coffee and watching annie before starting our days (bambi loves annie!)
we were also lucky enough to be here for gianna's 30th birthday celebrations!! it was at a really cool new restaurant/bar in chinatown called chinese tuxedo. it was honestly the best night. it's where we got to meet so many of jai and g's lovely friends and dress up for the great gatsby theme. a big highlight was being funny on the uber drive home ( there was traffic along the manhattan bridge at 2 in the morning???!) and on the way home jai ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza on seamless which we all ate together before bed.
